Lauren Harris
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist
Hello there! My name is Lauren Harris and I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). I earned my Bachelors of Science in Music Vocal Performance and Psychology from the University of Lynchburg in 2020 and my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2023. I have worked with both adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including group therapy, individual therapy, and while hospitalized. I have a passion working with our youth and hope to make a positive impact on them.
When providing therapy, I do my best to provide therapy that is educational, evidence-based, and ultimately fun and interactive. I have an eclectic approach to therapy, leaning into techniques from behavioral, person-centered, solution-focused, and existential models. Topics covered in therapy may include: communication, emotion management, self-care, self-discovery, grief, and many others! I value faith as a guiding force in my life and consider it an honor to incorporate spirituality into therapy when desired. Outside of professional endeavors, I enjoy video gaming, singing, trying local restaurants, drinking coffee, and spending time with family.
It was once described to me, counseling is like farming. A farmer plants the seeds, tills the ground, and reaps the harvest. As a counselor, I take joy in whatever stage of counseling you may be at—new to it, experienced, or feeling you are at the end of that journey. I hope to be a part of your counseling adventure!
